Phase III – Clerkship
During the clerkship period, I will spend a rotation at each of the major medical specialties. I won’t know the order or location of my placements until closer to the clerkship period, but the rotations will include:
- Family Medicine (6 weeks)
- Psychiatry (6 weeks)
- Surgery (12 weeks)
- Obstetrics and Gynecology (6 weeks)
- Internal Medicine (12 weeks)
- Emergency Medicine (6 weeks)
- Anesthesiology (2 weeks)
The clerkship period will be completed by April 2012, at which point I will be an MD, ready to begin my residency.
Wow! You just started. My husband’s a resident right now. It seems like a long road (and it is) but much of it will fly by! And even though you will sometimes think that you won’t survive another day, or that you can’t stay awake another minute, you can. Congrats on your new journey, have fun, and good luck!
